Bedrock

  1. the solid rock underlying unconsolidated surface materials
  2.  solidly fundamental, basic, or reliable

A vital beginning to our faith is the foundation on which we build and base all of our life and ministry on. Scripture is clear that our lives are to be built on the foundation (or bedrock) of the Word of God:

1 Corinthians 3:11: For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:20:  … built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,
2Timothy 3:16:  All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
Acts 16:5:  So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and they increased in numbers daily.
Romans 10:17:  So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
1 Corinthians 16:13: Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
2 Corinthians 13:5:  Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.
Colossians 2:7:  … rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

The purpose of this website is twofold:

  1. to explore, research and present the bedrock doctrines of ‘the faith’,
  2. to expose and warn growing Christians against false doctrine that is destroying the church and leading Christians into apostasy.

In all of the research that is undertaken, Dr Grant constantly endeavours to remain faithful to the Scriptures in their original historical and grammatical context, even when this approach challenges current church tradition and polity. Whilst the preeminence of Scripture as being inspired and given by God, many other historical and contemporary literary works remain important in shedding light on context, culture, meaning and application of the Scriptures.
